All in-person gatherings including holiday celebrations have been canceled for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic in Michigan. We hope to see you in person soon, but in the meantime, plans are being made to welcome community members who wish to participate in future holiday events via Zoom.

Hanukkah, Tu B’shevat, & Purim

In addition to celebrating the major Jewish holidays, the JCS provides holiday celebrations for families and members, which include activities for children and adults.

The following celebrations are usually held at the JCC of greater Ann Arbor:

Hanukkah – we escape the cold weather celebrating indoors with bounce houses, candle-making, and a Hanukkah Bazaar.

Tu B’shevat – we celebrate the New Year of the Trees with an environmentally-focused event. Previous events included celebrations at the Ann Arbor Matthaei Botanical Gardens, a visit to the Ann Arbor Reptile Zoo, and even a lecture about bats!

Purim – we dress in costume and celebrate with fun activities for the whole family. You don’t want to miss the famous JCS Purim Spiel..
